Christiev began her career in fashion as a model. Her eye for talent later led her to open her own modeling agency on the west coast. Soon, Next Management in New York City and Karans in Paris hired her as their model scout for North America.
In 1994 Christiev moved to Nashville, Tennessee to be the creative director for EMI/CMG. During her time there she oversaw the production of all photo packaging, music videos, imaging, and art direction.
In 2003 Christiev went out on her own and started Everything Visual, where she served as the creative director and a wardrobe stylist. In 2008 she launched a jewelry line with QVC.
It was during her work on country singer Gretchen Wilson’s Redneck Woman shoot that Christiev met the man that would eventually become her husband and the love of her life, Big Kenny. The two married on January 23, 2005. Ten months later, Lincoln William Holiday Alphin was born, and in July 2010 they adopted Dakota Jefferson Holiday Alphin who is now 16 months! Completing an even four sons! Her two older sons are Cameron, a budding filmmaker, and Christopher, a youth leader and communications major in Orange County, California.
Christiev is involved in many causes. One very close to her and Kenny’s heart, the crisis in Darfur. In October 2007, Kenny and Christiev traveled to Akon Village, which is 75 miles south of Darfur in Sudan. They made the trip with the organization My Sisters Keeper bringing in medical, school, and musical supplies. The self-produced trip brought along a team that included a doctor, local musician, and a film crew to document their journey into the region. Their documentary Bearing Light: A Journey to Sudan premiered at the Nashville Film Festival in 2008. They traveled back in June 2010, thrilled & humbled to officially dedicate the school to the village with over 500 hundred girls enrolled! Their love and ongoing support continue for Africa, Nashville, and so many others.
Christiev is enjoying this chapter of her life as a wife, mother, celebrity stylist, and entrepreneur. She speaks and encourages women at many events & publications, giving everyone an encouraging & joyful outlook and fashion and inner beauty. She is also known for her creativity and giving spirit towards everyone she encounters.
Shopping Diva Cathi Aycock is amazed to find that she has crafted a career out of her two diverse talents—namely, shopping and talking. Writing a daily column for The Tennessean's Daily Crave about the best retail offerings in and around Nashville and sharing her favorite deals with readers is such fun, she fairly dances her stilettos to work each day. Born in Nashville, she is also a wife and mother and calls Williamson County home.
